REDFUNDANCY FIGURES FOR BIRMINGHAM SCHOOLS

The redundancy budget set for 2017/18 was £750K this was overspent by almost £120K. The figures include:

Nursery 47 Teachers

Special 2 Support Staff

Primary 5 Teachers and 57 Support Staff

Secondary 9 Teachers and 13 Support Staff

Surprisingly the budget for 2018/19 is £750K

These figures are for maintained schools and do not include figures for Academies

WINS FOR BIRMINGHAM SCHOOL SUPPORT STAFF:

  • We have successfully negotiated more favourable alcohol misuse policy and substance misuse policy and  managed to get the testing section for both policies removed

  • Following a recent case we have also negotiated a more favourable end phase of life policy and will begin negotiations on a sabbatical policy shortly
