Windrush 1948
A Black History Month Event

Wednesday 14 October 2015 at 4.30pm

The SS Windrush arrived at Tilbury Docks on 22 June 1948 carrying passengers from the Caribbean. They came to Britain to assist with post-war reconstruction.

The 67th Anniversary celebrates the pioneering Windrush generation who came to Britain, helping to shape British social, cultural and political life.

You are invited to a presentation on the Windrush. There will be an informative Windrush display, a film and the guest presence of a Windrush passenger who will tell her personal story.
