The Channel 4 blame game

So BCC supremo Ian Ward is doing  the "nothing to do with me gov" to the Post the other day. In case you don't know the blame game has started over Brum's losing out to Leeds as the new regional HQ for Channel 4. Yep it's not exactly a high quality TV producer, but the "alternative" to BBC/ITV mianstream was incredibly sought after by a number of cities including Brum.  It seems that it was mostly sought after by politicans as a prestige boast. Andy Street, the Tory mayor was supposedly heading up a team with councillors and now they've lost each is blaming the other.

The Post says that the TV company was put off by the state of the Council's finances. How they were put off isn't published. How much the Council spent on ,dare I say, enticing them to come to Brum , we'll don't know.

Asked if the council put money into the bid, Ward said: “That I don’t know.”
