MP's agree to repay £15,000 in Perry Barr Academy dontations

"Three Birmingham Labour MPs have agreed to pay back £15,000 in campaign donations they received from the Perry Beeches academy schools at the centre of financial mismanagement allegations.

Jack Dromey (Erdington), who is Labour’s shadow policing minister, Gisela Stuart (Edgbaston) and Shabana Mahmood (Ladywood) were each handed £5,000 from Nexus Schools, the academies’ service company, before the 2015 General Election to help bolster their offices."

The MP's are under pressure now due to reports of funds for school meals being claimed by the trust without any "physical evidence", with £1.3 million pounds having been given to Nexus Schools over 2 years. The finances seem to be far from transparent, hense why the MP's may be in a spot of hot water currently regarding the campaign donations they recieved.

Please see the the article linked to this post for more information.

Another blow to this "all schools to become academies" idea?
