Clancy vs Manzie
Tue, 05 September 2017

The local media (Post & Mail) continue to run anti-union headlines over the strike. There did seem to be an end to it. But it now appears that the anti Union crowd in the Council are saying that the deal made by John Clancy is "unaffordable". That it will lead to even more equal pay claims. All this whilst magically spending money (they claim they don't have) on speed cameras and redeveloping Centenary Square.

The possible truth is that it's a battle between the right wingers of the Labour council with their Tory chums who want to smash the unions and the left who are trying to accomodate Unite and others for fear of upsetting the Corbyn leadership.

Here's hoping sense and pay justice will prevail and of course health and safety.
