Chief Exec goes - all of a sudden

BCC chief exec Mark Rogers has suddenly it appears quit the Council. The circumstances and reasons for him going are only open to guess work as the BCC leader and co won't say anything about it, only a "thanks" for the work.

It's been suggested he may have gone from Government pressure, after speaking out in the Guardian about the impact of Govt. cuts on Birmingham. So maybe the leadership caved in to the fear that a bad report from the "improvement" panel might be forthcoming, as claimed by one un-named Labour councillor , or maybe he jumped before he was pushed. We'll probably never know.

We'll also never know the pay off he got on his £180,000 a year salary, but the Birmingham Post claims it's a six figure sum.

Meanwhile Clancy and co are searching for a new Chief Executive.
