Senior Steward, Paul McCormack broke off from a well earned holiday in Weston Super Mare to go on strike on July 10th, and joined a North Somerset UNISON picket line outside Weston Town Hall.

"They really welcomed me and were a fantastic group on the picket line. I think given the Tory monoploy in the local council, they were very pleased to see reinforcements from Birmingham. Helen Thornton, a local branch officer sent her gettings and best wishes to all the pickets in Birmingham.

"It was clear from conversations on the picket line that cuts, redundancies, and closures are happening all over Somerset."

Paul reckons that if we get a decent pay rise, maybe next year he'll be able to afford a holiday abroad !
